Gaming is awesome, and for some people, a bit of meta-gaming with some trophy hunting only adds to the buzz :).  This is a thread for all your trophy talk :).  As well as places like the Playstation site, where you can compare trophies with your friends, there are also sites like Playfire and Raptr, which will combine trophies from across platforms, and in some cases track playtime.  Meta-game fun B).

Who's unlocked a tricky trophy lately (my latest was to destroy 50 aliens with explosive weapons in XCOM - take that, alien scum!)  What are people's latest plats? (Mine's Sly 1, which is possibly the easiest plat I've ever got, but it's also a lot of fun :))

And if you're on Raptr, you can find me as Axe99, and on Playfire as presumably similar, although it loads so slowly I rarely use it.

Happy Trophy Hunting :).

or it's just like playing & clocking a variety of games & not endlessly repeating the same sequence to get a trophy that has zero value.

Outlaw made a funny....

Haha, while it has no value, to me, getting a plat gives a little bit of fulfilment that I've completely finished a game and it's challenges. I only really go "out of my way" to get a plat on games i like ( besides COD since they're easy as shit to plat ). Most of the time the trophies all just come naturally from playing it anyway. Just surprising to see someone that high of a level in trophies without a plat

i play a lot of different games despite the 'cod only' image you guys try to paint of me.

& most trophy hunters i know tend to target easy games, playing childrens games & disney games just for the easy trophies.

Aye - I'll only plat a game I like (Sly 1 was in my permanent PS2 collection until they announced a HD remake), and generally only plat the games I like that are easy, or that I'm naturally fairly solid at (Apache Air Assault probably isn't crazy easy to people that aren't into flight games).  If it ain't fun, I won't chase it.  I will 'go after' trophies that look like a bit of fun though - I thought the way Super Stardust HD put together it's trophy set was very well done, lots of interesting (and often damn hard!) things to have a play at ;).  And luckily for me I don't mind collect 'em ups - but I generally detest 'reach level X online' trophies - I've only ever got these for online games I've gone nuts over (MAG, for example).

I'm lvl 15 on psn with about 3 plats: gow3, uc2 and mw2. I love the bling of a hard earned trophy.

I just about to get the FXIII-2 Plat before my 60GB died, stupid luck based slot machine game. So I lost the 40 hours as it wasn't backed up because it was 23mb. At least FF's these days are much shorter than what they were.

Yeah i'm the same, i dont bother with platinum'ing boring games regardless of how easy it is. The thing i hate about trophies is that some of them are just way too annoying and boring, like a trophy where you have to collect/find certain items in a game that does nothing for example the treasures in uncharted or the feathers in assassins creed games. Just pointless. The trophies i do like are the ones that try to push you and actually give you a challenge.

I had to plat all the GoW games lol as you can tell i'm a fan. KING KRATOS!

I got kz2 elite, but in the no death play through was up to radec and...my 40gb died and the game save was lost. Havet got back to it. With AC2 I've done just about everything other than a few feathers but during the apocalyps3 I completed a chapter and the trophy didn't register. Now for the plat I gotta go back and do the game thru to level 5 and that ain't gonna happen. Infamous I'm missing one phaaaaarkin shard. For bf3 ive got one coop mission to do on hard for plat but my connection with my coop buddy makes it practically impossible.I could go on with these tales of woe.

Woah, batty - so you've pretty much done Elite on KZ2 twice!  Impressive stuff - that game pwns me on normal!  I'm lucky, in that I don't mind hunt 'em all missions if it's a traversal thing and the world is interesting enough, and they're not over-the-top (the original AC had just a few too many feathers, and they were too damn well hidden - I like the way they give you the general area in the sequels, so it's enjoyable, but not crazy busywork).  But MP trophies that make you behave a certain way _really_ give me the irrates - it's like the devs made a certain game, then decided to change how everyone played it by throwing trophies on top - there was one in MAG for running over 5 people (or something like that) in a round - so you'd jump in an APC to get to the frontline and instead of being sensible the driver would maniacally charge into the middle of the enemy's base looking for people to run over, completely ignoring the actual flow of the game at hand.

SOCOM:Confrontation's online trophies were generally much more sensible - x # of kills with certain weapons, not dying for a certain number of kills (I don't mind devs suggesting that not dying is a good way to play an online shooter ).
