lets see how nerdy some of us are xD

so what interests & hobbies do you guys have outside of gaming ?  pics would be good, i'll start ...

suzuki 4x4s;

my daily drive is a suzuki jimny that i like to play with & modify.  biggest mods in addition to the usual being a rear diff lock & larger engine swap;

i've also got an LJ50, it's from the 1970s & is a bit of a project car.  it's a 3 cylinder 2 stroke engine, just like say a lawn mower or a outboard boat engine, complete with that sound, smell & the smoke lol;

i participate in another forum dedicated to zooks & you can see more about the cars here if you're interested:

another newer thing i'm doing is collecting vintage star wars figures, talking between 1977 & 1985.  i always had 3 from when i was a kid & always intended to start collecting them.  i'm up to about 20 now, aiming for loose figures in good to mint condition with original accessories/weapons, also trying to get some variants (where they're made in different countries or different release years or whatever, yes pretty nerdy).

i don't actually have any images of what i have (will get some & post later), but here's a pic of what's available (don't click unless you really wanna see as the image is large):

i'm also keen on fishing/boating, although this past 2 years i've rarely been able.  i've got a quintrex runabout but it has an engine issue i still haven't gotten around to fixing (3 jobs & 4 kids, argh).

other thing touched on at the top was the off roading with the suzuki which includes camping.  last few years in september i've been making a trip to the murray & last year 3 of my kids were able to come for the first time which was great.  that auszookers link has stuff about the wheeling & whatnot in there.

will post pics of the star wars stuff later on, so what's everyone else into these days ?

We have some similar interests there with wheeling, camping and fishing Graph, I have a JKU Wrangler that I hit the trails with but it has been way too long since I sent it. I also but up an annual black bream comp with my shift at the end of  October, 2 night of misbehaviour and fishing, I'm expecting 15 blokes and 4 or 5 boats this year.

And the latest one is a mate built an offroad RC track so we've picked up a couple of electric 1/10th short course trucks and have our first competitive round with 14 entrants in the 25th.

Great thread Graph B).  Great hobbies and interests too and same to you AG) :).  My brother used to have a huge star wars collection as a kid (that generation of figures, as you'd expect), brings back lots of memories :).

I used to like getting outdoors as well back in the day, but more hiking and camping than 4x4 and boating.  A long time ago (couple of decades now) I enjoyed some casual Aussie Rules, but I suspect that would have stopped now regardless of health, lol.

I'm pretty slow-moving these days, so hobbies are mainly strategy gaming, netflix and spotify.  As an aside to the strategy gaming, of late I've been getting an interest in warships of the WW1/WW2 era (Rule the Waves had nothing to do with it at all, not ;)), so the little reading I've been doing has been about warships.

For some high-powered nerdiness, back in the day I used to paint little metal figurines - not as much for tabletop gaming but more just because.  I'd do it again if I was up for it - they're 32mm scale (so a 6' person is 32 mm high) and need a fairly steady hand, here's a couple to make everyone feel relatively less nerdy :P (because strategy games and warships wouldn't do it?!)

Haha, sorry - I used to play footy (Aussie rules - real footy :P) casually when I was a good deal healthier as well - half-back flank and then full-back when I was a bit too buggered to run as much.  We're talking nearly 20 years ago now though, so having it as a current hobby seemed a bit of a stretch!
