Freedom Wars, SSX, Far Cry 3 Blood Dragon also join the service

Winter is coming…. and so is next month’s batch of PlayStation Plus games. Are you ready to delve into epic battles against the forces of darkness, or maybe you’d rather play it a little safer with a light-hearted adventure? Well, you’re in luck because we have both bases covered – with PlayStation Plus, you can fight over dragons and kings this holiday season, rather than who gave the worst gifts…
Here’s the full list of great titles that await you on 1st December:
  • Gauntlet: Slayer Edition (PS4)
  • King’s Quest – Chapter 1: A Knight to Remember (PS4)
  • Far Cry 3 Blood Dragon (PS3)
  • SSX (PS3)
  • Rocketbirds Hardboilded (PS Vita)
  • Freedom Wars (PS Vita)
Gauntlet: Slayer Edition

Fanboys/girls you can feel extra special this month as you are getting your hands on a PS4 exclusive! Know any wannabee/legit Warriors, Valkyries, Wizards, or Elves? Well then, assemble your team and prepare to invade the darkness with Gauntlet: Slayer Edition! Fight with your friends through the monstrous hordes lurking in a myriad of unique dungeons as you scour them for gold. What’s more, we are also giving away a free Gauntlet Slayer Edition PlayStation Plus theme on 1st December too!
PS: Hack-and-slash or take a more strategic approach, but for the love of Gauntlet, don’t shoot the food or you may be in for a tough time with your team mates! I mean, who isn’t cranky when they’re hungry, especially when your health bar depends on it?!

King’s Quest – Chapter 1: A Knight to Remember

It’s going to be a night to remember when King’s Quest – Chapter 1: A Knight to Remember (yes, I am aware of how lame that was) drops next month! Brace yourself for a fun filled fantasy adventure with enchanting characters and a beautiful art style in this reimagining of the classic adventure series.
And that’s not all. Go full throttle in the explosive ’80s-themed shooter Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon (PS3), snowboard through beloved sports franchise SSX (PS3), annihilate an evil penguin regime in action adventure Rocketbirds: Hardboiled Chicken (PS Vita), or escape a million-year prison sentence in Freedom Wars (PS Vita).

Last chance!

One word: FOMO. If you haven’t downloaded November’s games, don’t say I didn’t warn you – you’ve got until 30th November to grab these awesome titles:
  • The Walking Dead Season 2 (PS4)
  • Magicka 2 (PS4)
  • Mass Effect 2 (PS3)
  • Dragon Fin Soup (PS4, PS3 & PS Vita)
  • Invizimals (PS Vita)
  • Beyond Good and Evil (PS3)

So with the final month of this years PlayStation Plus being announced, what's everyone's thoughts on the value its provided this year?

For me since letting my sub lapse late last year I haven't been tempted to re-sub once this year. No two months have given me enough confidence to risk putting down $70 compared to when I did sub to the service, I felt safe that I would get my monies worth but since mid last year it hasn't been able to re-inspire that confidence in the service again.

Indeed - pretty ordinary. I probably won't renew it next time. I don't play games on the PS4 much these days and rarely online as well so there's no real point in it. It doesn't cost much though (for a whole year) so there's nothing to really complain about. If it's $70 - that's $5.80 a month or $1.45 a week (if my calculations are correct). pffft.

Cheers for the latest Spec :D.  It's definitely been a mixed year for PS+ for me.  My rule of thumb for value is if it's worse than $10/hour (a little more than your average movie ticket), then it's not going to make the cut, and PS+ was comfortably on the right side of that equation this year, and continued to give me a 'taste' of games I wouldn't play otherwise, or was interested in but were a bit quick for me these days, so I got to see them (play the tutorial and first level, say, before things ramp up) without having to fork out for the whole game - so it was still an on-balance positive.  However, it's got a long way to go before it gets to the glory days of the last couple of year or so the PS3.  This month is alright for me - Kings Quest Vol. 1 is something I was definitely going to play, and Freedom Wars for Vita looks interesting as well, so makes the $5.80 'Clown Cut' B).

I think I'm just gonna buy Kings Quest on PC when I get around to it.

It is cheap overall I do agree on a whole $70 a year isn't much but I regardless how cheap something is I like to get my monies worth.
I kind of do have a few things that weren't too cheap that I now wonder why did I get those things, so I try to spend more responsibly.
Especially since $70 can go far on steam or psn sale getting games I have interest in.

When I was subbed it was well and truly worth its value, but for me the value dropped while the price stayed the same.
