PS Plus has provided SCEE members with over 350 games since its launch on 29th June 2010 and continues to offer hand-picked titles for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita. That’s a lot of games!

It’s also provided members with unforgettable PS4 online multiplayer experiences, with more than 270 million hours being spent playing FIFA 15 online – the same as playing 181.2 million 90-minute football matches!

To celebrate those of you that have been with us from the very beginning, a limited edition gift will be arriving in the mail for those of you that have been part of the journey since the very start. Think you may be one of them? Then keep a close eye on your emails as we’ll be getting in touch today.

Here’s to another five years!

Doesn't feel like its been 5 years but then again like many PlayStation Plus didn't draw my attention till the Instant Game Collection(IGC)(2012) was announced around 3 years ago.

I resisted for a few months, not actually owning the games held a bit of stigma over it for me but getting 90-days at $19.95 to access Infamous 2 at the time was a good deal, throw in Darksiders and it was enough to get me in and got 4 games out of it.

I picked another 90 day sub that holidays for $13.45 before doing so again that when it was on sale in February picking up 5 games during that 180 day period.

I let it lapse a few months before based on the past jumped on a yearly +90 bonus deal. I got 8 games out of that period and a handful of $ in extra discounts but the start of 2015 saw a decline in Plus for me only getting 4 games that drew my interest 1 of which I already had finished and had on PC. The first 90 days of that sub was more fruitful then the year part.

I felt the turning point for me was nearing E3 at the time I and many others were expecting good things and it was due time for the yearly titles to be updated. Instead we get news the yearly titles will be no more and get a basketball game, it went from an exciting time to a let down and signalled the end of plus for me now looking back.

I didn't end up renewing when it ran out at the end of the year, it just wasn't providing the value anymore with just a PS3, the games appearing just didn't interest me.
The PS4 titles just didn't do anything to make me feel like paying to have them available in the future.

While it has currently ended on a poor note for me my 755 for $116.80 provided me with 17 games and at least $10 of extra discounts, it provided good value overall. Getting me same games I would've purchased(Infamous 2, Mass Effect 3) while also providing several I wouldn't have(Dragon's Dogma, Okami) and if you exclude that large poor period it ended on it provided great value.

I cant see me ever renewing while I only have a PS3 and whether I will when I get a PS4 I am not sure I have enjoyed my time online but I am not thrilled about having to pay for it and the IGC still doesn't draw me in like it did.

Anyone else have their Plus tales? Anyone here been there since the start? Is Plus getting better or worse for you? Don't hesitate to share.

Nice one Spec :).  I signed up pretty near the start (not sure exactly when, but it wouldn't have been far off), and have been pretty much constant bar the odd 1-2 day lapse that I didn't notice until I tried to play a PS+ game a couple of years ago.  Haven't been counting, but the thing I've liked best about PS+ is that I was introduced to games I'd never have touched otherwise, but ended up really enjoying.  Things like Don't Starve or Rogue Legacy are games that I doubt I'd have bought, but enjoyed a lot.  Other times, I like how it gives you a 'taste' of games - so something like Outlast, which I'd also never buy, and would never expect to play through to the end, but an hour or two gave an interesting insight into the genre.  Then I changed my underpants and played something else :P.

It definitely started slow - the game choice early on was often quite lacklustre, and while there were a few early games that made it worthwhile for me, it wasn't until the days of the IGC that it really took off.  After that point, there's been no question that for a game floozy like m'self, it was good value (in terms of dollars per hour of entertainment, it was comfortably under the $1/hour mark, which I rate as 'good value' - I'm not rigid with that kind of thinking, but I couldn't sensibly afford to pay $80 for 10 hours of The Order for every game and still play as much - well, without replaying games a lot :)).

Going forward, it seems to be shifting focus to the PS4, which is good with me - and the PS4 games look to have been improving at once (quality indie titles at launch are good :)).  Looking forward to when the PS4 install base is large enough, and the catalogue deep enough, that we start getting larger titles on the service regularly.
