Heya folks!

Just thought I'd drop by and say hello, I just registered yesterday as I'm looking to make a few friends here and there around the local region. I was born in New Zealand but now live in sunny Brisbane, Australia, which means I now know what bacon feels like when you put it in the frying pan.

I've been gaming since my uncle gave me a copy of Age of Empires in 1998 and haven't really slowed down since then. Some of my favorites, Age of Empires series, Empire Earth and Art of Conquest, Baldur's Gate, Baldur's Gate 2 and Icewind Dale 1 and 2 were massive deals for me and I still play them now, especially with the Enhanced Editions now out and being actively supported again!

Dawn of War series, Dungeon Keeper, Mass Effect and the Guild Wars series also make the list!

Currently I'm digging pretty deep into Starcraft 2 Heart of the Swarm, I got it about a week ago, played the campaign and totally feel in love with it. Did a couple days of practices against bots learning Terran then jumped into the 1v1 multiplayer. Played the first 3 placement matches, won 2 of 3 and got thrown straight into gold. which appears to be a little higher then I can handle on the norm and I'm now comfortably sitting in Silver.

If we weren't on Dodo internet I might actually be able to get some decent micro/macro practice in against people. If anyone has been on Dodo internet you're no doubt aware of the issues!

DoTA 2 is also something of a big deal, although I lack a five stack at the moment so playing with the pubs is INCREDIBLY frustrating.

Anyway, that's quite the rant!

G'day Calo and welcome to the site (and congratulations on being one of our few Australian _and_ New Zealand members ).  I'm mainly gaming on PS4, but do a healthy amount on Steam and PSV - I'm mainly SP, and don't really get into Mobas (I'm not sure why, I've tried, but we just never clicked) but if you've ever got questions about grand strategy titles I'll probably be able to help - Paradox Development Studios and Firaxis would be my two fave PC devs .  I hope Starcraft keeps rockin' it for ya .

Hey Man,

I'm the leader of a clan called Down Under Squadron (DUS) - Primarily an Xbox clan which is about all I play, but we do have approx 4 Star Craft/DayZ PC players.....only problem is they also play xbox, and with Halo MCC due out soon - it'll be hard to pry them back to the PC probably till after the Halo 5 beta.
