As per the subject line, it looks like everyone and anyone (with more than 13GB or so left of DL on their quota for the month ) with a PS+ and XBL subscription can check out the Destiny beta.  If it's of interest, and you haven't already, I highly recommend a look-see, myself and many others (just have a gander at the Destiny thread) have been very impressed .

Haha, yes, assuming this was the plan all along, you could make a cynical case that Activision/Bungie was trying bump up pre-orders, but they wouldn't do that, would they? .

Pre-orders can be cancelled though so if that was their plan I fail to see the reasoning. It will cheapen the beta goodies up for offer on Sunday if everyone that signs in gets them though.

or maybe no enough numbers in the pre-order, so open it to everyone so that they could bump up the sales.

I think one reason might be because they wanted as many people as possible online on Sunday as I believe they want to stress test the servers.

Yeah, it's just for a couple of days, looks like a load test.
The download servers are going to get wrekt!

The Destiny Beta will be available without a code on PS4, PS3, Xbox One, and Xbox 360 on July 24th at 4PM PDT. The Destiny Beta will close at end of the day on July 26th PDT.
