Callfire and I were chatting in KZ last night and we just don't see any of the clans from the KZ2 days around any more with [WIDE] currently the dominant KZ clan at the moment mainly due to force of numbers.

WpR still has quite an active membership (20+) with a lot of inactive members but they are spread across a few games, it appears the glory days of massive clan nights are behind us. What are the other clans up to?

Well VVV gradually disbanded over the course of MAG and BFBC2, from memory our last clan game was in the 6A Squad Rush tourni semi-final for BFBC2.

There was a slight resurgence with KZ3 then everyone drifted apart very quickly as KZ3 didnt take off.  Some went off into PC gaming, some into MMOs, and some just don't game much nowdays ;)

I still play BF4 with a few old VVV mates but only one of them has committed to KZ:SF.  Aromaci, Clowny and I are still about here with the other old Clanz people.

We were more a social clan with quite a few musicians and not overly into competitive gaming once KZ2 died off.

I still have a lot of FC#K, GaS, BTG, QD and SPT people on my friends lists, even a few WpR people as well from BFBC2.

Other old clans I can remember were FD, TRU n EAB . . .

SPT gradually faded over time, I'm still in touch with most of the core (as well as quite a few from across the 'old clans', but I reckon we'd struggle to put together three people on any given night, and that'd be on the PSN, without needing everyone in the same game.  I deffo miss the old clan nights (and am sorry I've fallen below being able to run them regularly on KZ:SF - they're bloody top fun, but I don't want to say it's happening and then not show), and while I wouldn't be up for playing in it, if people got 3-4 teams together for a quick'n'dirty clan comp, I'd happily support it as best I can.

The last clan night/thing SPT did was with QD in Starhawk, probably the last time we really got together in any way.  Was good fun :D.

I guess it is just the natural decline along with the lack of clan support in extremely buggy releases not helping. We'll get another KZ night happening Axe, I'm on most nights for a while but trying to get a group together is a challenge.

A lot of great clans have gone since KZ2 most of FC#K are still around last game we used the FC#K tag was BF3 I think some are more PC some have stuck to console I keep in touch  with most of the guys in one way or another. But its as you said bad clan support in most titles and the fact KZ3 never made it past it's beta stage has seen us spread out across games and platforms.

This was a huge factor - we had great clan support in the likes of the first couple of Resistance games, KZ2, Warhawk and SOCOM:Confrontation, and then all the releases followed the CoD template where 'clan support' was a tag before you PSN ID.  I remember it was right sad after the start to the gen.  Even now, only KZ:SF has decent clan support of the next-gen exclusives.

If you want a hand going around the internet drumming up support, am always happy to help out, just give me a few days notice :D.

I don't really see much of the NZGR guys anymore, most of the old guard seem to be doing other stuff, but I see them online occasionally.
They seem to be doing their own in-house community nights mostly.

Since the death of KZ2, I know there hasn't really been anything that's interested me much. Bit of CoD, mostly BF4 now (Carrier Assault is quite fun; reminds me of Titan Mode in BF2142), but nothing I'm happy to sink time into :(

I still see the occasional NZGR'r in here and online. Had a few games with them as well.

As far as I know:
Stungaf had a kid
Stillmatic moved to Melbourne.

I'll send you an FR today Hasan, I'm not a big fan of spamming FR's so if anyone else wants to hook up for KZ just send me a request or let me know here and I'll send one.

And that really annoyed me, especially when any random could use your tag.

How does this Thursday sound mate? If we can't get the numbers we can aim for the 29th?

Aye, Thursday sounds good, I'll try and be there for half an hour at the start at least, and see how I hold up.  Name your time and I'll happily spam the PSF/MMGN/NZGR and the like to let people know :D.

Stillmatic was tops, and looks like he has good taste in cities as well ;).  JD's still about, not as much as the old days, but still active :D.

Sounds like a plan - I'll make sure I'm there at 8 to set up, then if you can be on by 8:30 if I don't have legs that'd be awesome :D.

Edit: I've set up a Warzone called "ANZ Community Night - Standard", pw of 747 - made a new one so all the new DLC stuff and new maps are included.

Those were the days aye P1nk?  Theres a couple of us who frequent the ANZ KZ:SF games on thursday nights, you should stop by if you have the game?  JD and RDT1 make an appearance every once in a while but mainly its atipuss, pakeha soldier and I repping NZGR. A few others are starting to join in now too.

Really fun nights though, definitely my best online experience since the KZ2 days as I just don't get to play as much as I used to.

One of our original members rejoined and happened to have this vid of SiN+ vs FC#K in a semi of one of the 2009 Killzone comps.

Nice piece of nostalgia.
