New to GG?  Let us know who you are and what you're into with your very own introduction thread :).  This tells the community you've arrived on the scene, and by letting people know what kind of games and gaming you're into, will help you meet up with like-minded gamers.

An introduction can be as much or as little as you like. The only rules are to not give out real-word details or email addresses (email addresses in forums are a great way to build your spam collection, and given that our general forums are public, and anyone can be anyone on the internet, we recommend being sensibly  cautious about who you share real-life details with).

Not sure what to write? It can be as simple as:

Quote

Hi, I'm Dominator, AbDominator1000* on the PSN and Steam, and am a hardcore competitive CoD player* on PS3 with CF3W. I also sometimes play a little DotA 2 on PC.

Or as expansive as:

Quote

Hi, I'm HSV_Rules from Sydney.  I've been gaming since they released the original Pong and remember when computers were programmed with punch-cards.  My favourite genres are racing games, shooters and tennis simulations, and I'm currently playing a lot of Medal of Honor: Warfighter and GT5 on PS3 and Forza 3 on the 360.  Looking forward, I'm pumped for Halo 4 and am curious (although slightly nervous) about how Forza: Horizon will turn out.

My PSN and Xbox Gamertag is HSV_Rules1964*. My favourite car is the 1971 HQ Holden and am petitioning Polyphony Digital to include it in GT6.  Other than gaming, I also enjoy the NRL (Carn' the Tigers) and Motorsports (and mostly V8 Supercars - HRT are where it's at)

Gaming's been a passion of mine for decades now - it's hard to say what my favourite ever game is, but while technology has meant that racing games keep on improving, I still have a soft spot for the original V8 Supercars Race Driver - a track full of Holdens and Fords, damage, career progression and, for the time, a great physics model.  When it comes to shooters, I've always preferred those with a more realistic angle, and my favourites include the earlier SOCOMs (SOCOM:Confrontation is my favourite online shooter this gen) and the Operation Flashpoint games.

I'm not currently in a clan, but was a member of TTN until it disbanded.  I generally play fairly late in the evenings, after the kids have gone to bed, and while I enjoy it, I never take it too seriously.  If you're into MoH:Warfighter, GT5 and Forza, and are up for some late night gaming and a laugh or two, hit me up on PSN/XBL.

or more!  Include pics or vids, rep your clan and/or other sites that you like to game on, tell us whether you like long walks on the beach or prefer trekking through rainforest and so on :).

* Just examples, any similarities with living or deceased gamers is purely coincidental. Don't try and add these folk :P.

Hi guys, im madrtr / madrooter. I have been gaming since i could basically put a controller in my hand, starting off with my first console (Atari 2600, back in the 80's). Over the previous 3 years of my "gaming" life i have focussed on building eSports here in Australia (Competitive gaming) for both console and PC gamers. Recently I have began soley working on ESL Australia, which launched in August of this year as the MD with partner Reagan 'RiGZ" Koryozo, both of us whom stem from the PS3 gaming community.

To give you guys a bit of background regarding ESL, if your not sure what it is:

The Electronic Sports League (ESL) is the largest and most important league for gamers in Europe consisting of more than 3 million registered members and more than 800,000 registered teams. ESL is operated by the company Turtle Entertainment since 2000 and offers more than 3,500 professional leagues and amateur ladders from a variety of games. Around 400.000 matches per month are being played worldwide using ESL technology. The ESL has 15 franchise holders and two subsidiaries working in 41 countries around the globe. Global corporations such as Intel, BenQ, Deutsche Post, DELL, Asus, adidas, Volkswagen and Microsoft support the ESL.

ESL also run the Intel Extreme Masters (IEM) and countries (where ESL is present) also tend to run a national based league, the EPS (ESL Pro Series) - which is something we are rolling out next year for Australia, so exciting times ahead!

Great work on the site to those involved, its good to have a community dedicated to the communities (hope that makes sense! lol).

i'll have a go.

you guys can call me graph.

i'm 32 years old.  i'm married with 3 kids, a 5 year old daughter, a 3 year old son & a 1 year old daughter.

as a kid i had a few different gaming machines at different times.  by about the age of i guess 16 i pretty much stopped playing, would've been around that time i bought my first car i guess.  my now wife brought home a playstation 3 on or very close to launch(i would've been in my mid twenties) as a special surprise for me (& blu-ray player for herself lol).  i played it on & off until call of duty 4 was released & it sucked me right in, probably the best FPS game in my eyes since golden eye on N64.

i hammered the hell out of CoD4, literally couldn't get enough of it.  eventually i was asked to join a 'clan' & it was AUF.  through AUF i started playing in 'clan wars' & that sucked me in even more.  eventually i became hooked up at Clan Central, now known as Sixaxis Gaming & i just sorta got involved in the running of events side of things.

more recently life has become much busier for me.  recently i became a retained fire fighter with the SA MFS, which is basically a fireman on call, making 3 jobs i have which one is full time.  being a fire fighter is pretty exciting work but my beeper can go off at anytime & i'm gone for unknown periods & this combined with my family commitments & other work commitments has seen me fade away from gaming quite heavily.

i can see in the coming year my actual gaming at the console will be really reduced, maybe towards miniscule.  since going on call i think i've only played the PS3 twice & that's over a month ago whereas i was on there 5 nights a week previously.  as a result i'm looking to focus more on the running of events & even dabbling in bringing news stories via GG, while even campaigning for all the gaming sites to set aside differences & work together to better support the AU/NZ PS3 comp scene.

when playing i like to play a lot more than CoD, although everyone pigeon-holes me as just a CoD player.  my favorite genres include racing (especially sim), role playing, strategy, & a mix of adventure/3ps (so uncharted makes me froth & i even loved socom 4 & resident evil operation raccoon city which everyone else hated).

basically if any one here needs anything or has any questions i'm always happy to help the best i can.  i look forward to the prospects of what GG may be able to bring the AU/NZ gaming community & look forward to mingling with you lot here.

Hello everyone. I am a PC gamer, bow down to the glorious PC master-race you console pheasants.

Haha, just kidding. You console guys are cool, I own a PS3 and Wii (and sometimes actually play them!). But mostly I play League of Legends, Borderlands 2, Battlefield 3 and various Source games while leaving my Steam collection of over 300 games to rot.

  Welcome aboard Eggy, and don't worry, PC gamers are welcome here - we've even got a PC section floating around in the forums :).   Although plenty of us also game on PC (I've 'only' got 100+ Steam games, and started gaming on PC before I shifted over to console for most of my gaming, but I still hit the PC up for genres and games you can't find on our little black boxes).

Hi all, multi-platform gamer here. My favourite game in the world is Snake II on the Nokia 3310. Easily beats your standard CoD/Battlefield games in graphics, storyline, and playability.
I enjoy playing TRUE horror games like Minesweeper, and Super Ghouls and Ghosts.

Been playing games from all over the shop recently, VVVVVV, Survivers, League of Legends, Borderlands 2 are just part of the list.

[edited by Axe - looks good if you're just reading your post KoH, but all that blank space makes the thread a bit painful to read ;) ]

I am here, that is all.
"The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the inequities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men. Blessed is he who, in the name of charity and good will, shepherds the weak through the valley of darkness, for he is truly his brother's keeper and the finder of lost children. And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who would attempt to poison and destroy My brothers. And you will know My name is the Lord when I lay My vengeance upon thee."   Jules Winnfield
