Killzone Shadowfall

(Community Night)

Starting Date: Thursday, 13 February, 7:30pm AEDST/9:30pm NZDST

It's our regular Thursday night Killzone session - all ANZers welcome for a friendly game of Killzone: Shadowfall without random people from other parts of the world dropping in and messing with our latency .  This week we're going for a standard set-up as per the usual warzones, and for a change to the naming convention.  Everything else is as it usually is, hope to see you there for some more Killzone-tastic action .

Game name: ANZ Battlefest - Standard
Entry code: 747
Time: 7:30pm AEDST/9:30pm NZDST
Rules: Standard, except no flashlight on the Judaz.
As always: No parties (they're turned off in the game options, now that it's an option), and remember to enable voice chat if you're feeling chatty .

Got another bloody bug so will be off comms tomorrow night unless I make a crazy good recovery overnight - that may be an incentive for more people to turn up, lol .  Just letting you know so anyone who's there doesn't think I'm giving them the silent treatment .

Will try to join in, but will most likely be a little late (coaching soccer Tuesday & Thursday evenings this season).

Usually by the time I have everything sorted on the home front it has all finished up.
Will do my best to get on, if I can get the kids to go to bed at 6pm, not eat dinner and not need any food for lunch tomorrow.
I'll keep working on it as I am sure there are many other ways to cut corners.

In terms of the late night crew, you can start the Battlefest up again if there's enough on even if it has quietened down a bit.  Good luck with coaching/music/fathering commitments Eco/Jyks/Dunny, may they be well directed/in-tune/well-behaved as appropriate .

Are the servers like kz2 style? Or once the person who made it leaves, it ends?

Ah the days of having a FC#K clan vs you server last over a week haha

Rooms are KZ2 style, will keep running until everyone leaves, no need for person who started to stick around - and the system hangs onto the templates for them, so anyone who played last night can start up the same server with the same name whenever they like as well (and for any of their past servers, or at least as many as their history holds).  Works quite well, only issues I've noticed is that custom servers aren't quite as stable with high numbers of players - when we got up to 18-20 players a few weeks back, it started dropping people left, right and centre.  May have been fixed in new patch, but hard to tell.

Great games again last night guys,  our side took a bit of a beating after that first map win but it was thoroughly enjoyable.  Got a lot of death from above kills last night too, gotta love those.

Axe those slaps you gave me are awesome - what other animations did you get?

Trying to defend those bomb sites on penthouse was intense - face one way, headshot 2 guys, get shot from revolving door,  swing rifle round, headshot him, see guy planting - lay a full clip in him before finally dropping him, melee someone else, become overrun and panic, die.  Respawn and repeat.  Awesome.

Ati, I unleashed a full clip into you, saw the blood animation and everything and you lived!  I couldn't believe it.  It was in that spot right next to the generator by the revolving door.  I think it must of lagged or something because I just kept shooting for a complete clip and it looked like every bullet connected and you didn't drop.   Get rid of your invincibility blanket or jump back on the light side of the force and use that technique on Axe and Doomy.

PS Econodog, whatever you were shooting me with that made me catch on fire - I HATED IT - haha,  once you are hit you are screwed cos you can't see anything and its hard to tell what you are aiming at.

When I'm playing support with a Turret, I use the incendiary rounds with the VC30 Sickle. I previously used the flashlight, but since I got owned on a map from some guy using the incendiary rounds, I switched to that and haven't looked back. I know how frustrating it is, I've been on the receiving end too. It's just too much fun watching your rivals burn!

Did you create the siamesedreams username because of the Smashing Pumpkins album 'Siamese Dream'?

Great games last night, those new animations are great - think I might splurge on a pack.

Sure did, been a fan since '93.  Hardcore from 93 to 2000 I guess.  Nowadays I still go see them (billy) when they tour but its been mostly downhill since the late 90's.

yeah when the game crashed on me I figure its bed time but definitely  lagging at times. one point I thought dommy was dancing by a door way lol

Nice, Siamese Dream is definitely up there in my Top 10 albums of all time - brilliant from start to finish. Haven't seen them since the '94 tour, but have great memories from the Coogee Bay Hotel gig.
