so who got what they were after & who gave something that really clicked ?

personally got my wife one of those coffee pod machines (aka bread maker type fad for 2013) & got the kids a wii (old school version as they're really young).

Nice one Graph, hope the coffee is good .  Got our niece who's about seven months a fluffy toy that jingles that she's a fan of, but my big win for the year (decade/century?! ) was some jewelry for my other half without any consultation that went down well - had a feeling about it, but always tricky buying that kind of thing without clear instructions .

you must've practically won lotto for her to have liked the gear without seeing it first.  i bought my wife some diamond earrings a while back on the spur of a moment, cost me over $800 & when i gave them to her she started crying lolol.  she said she liked them though :/

how crap are these wii things ?  every controller is a 'master', where no matter what number you're assigned 1 to 4 you have full control over the console & game.  you can imagine how that works out with 3 kids playing the thing, also the menu systems & buttons used to access menus etc make no sense at all.  one moment you use A for it, next you might use 2 & then later the + button all to perform a similar thing ??

basically the kids can barely get a game started without an adult around, & even then to get a game going you literally have to take the controllers off all of them as you're guaranteed one will press a button when you're trying to get it started.  it's turned into a real nightmare of an xmas present tbh, wish we hadn't bought it.

Haha Saintsy - indeed we do .  Will be interesting to see if the average skill level on KZ:SF has dropped a bit overnight .

Commiserations mate!  At least she said she liked them, so sounds like she appreciated the gesture (which was very romantic ). It's deffo the only time I've done it, other jewelry has been a trip with her to the store and her trying it all on.  May never do it again, reckon I'll retire with a 1-0 record, odds of pulling it off twice are probably higher than I'd like to calculate!

I had a Wii for a couple of months, didn't really think much of it (noting I don't do a lot of couch coop, and the vast majority of that is controller based and not motion gaming).  Even only playing SP stuff it had issues.  It is fun when everyone's learned how it works for party games, so once the kids are trained up you'll probably be right, but it sounds like the training could be a dash painful :/.  Got a mate who was right into it, can ask him what the better games were if that'd help?  Good luck .

i'm not wanting to play it, it's just for the kids, so not after games i'd like.  at the moment they're flogging super mario bros, all the sounds in the background are so familiar to me lol.

I got a lump of coal, apparently someone dobbed me in for some of the bad shit I've done, and Santa wasn't impressed. But don't worry, I've already started working on a plan to hunt the fucker down and mug him. If he doesn't turn up for anyone next year, it will be my fault, but I'm ok with that.
