Squads for what? Swimming?

Are you talking about the game mode Squads?

Has 4 game modes:
WARGAME(Online Training mode(Like online(DM, SR,...) but against bots))
SQUAD ASSAULT(versus against someone's A.I. squad)
SQUAD V SQUAD((You and your bot squad against someone else and their bot squad).
SAFEGUARD(Wave based mode)

Looks like its a tweaking/expansion of Spec Ops mode. Looks like its mainly versus bots and with bot companions.

Basically, your squad is made up of the custom soldiers you have when selecting your class/loadout in the MP. In Squad Mode, they will play as your teammates and they're all controlled by the AI but will act/play according to whatever loadouts you pick for them in battle. For instance, lonng ranged sniper wwould generally stay back and camp, cqc smg would run'n'gun, etc.

i'm sure there's a bit more to it as sometimes in regular online games i get awarded bonus points for 'killed squad member', so i'm wondering if it somehow follows on ???  everytime i go to try it though i end up playing regular lobbies.

haha, thanks live, posted at the same time.  so it doesn't really have anything to do with regular online apart from your additional XP earned.
