It's been a while since I looked at cards (a couple of years, maybe a little more), but from memory AMD cards were a bit power hungry (and hotter - might even be related

) - if that's still the case, keep an eye on power and cooling requirements. Nvidia cards seem to have less trouble at launch as well (better drivers and all that).
