A new CoD is only a month and a half away (not to mention new systems a couple of months off).  What are peeps thoughts on how we want to get into it?  In the past, we've run a 'Clan Sixes' comp over 4-5 weeks before Christmas, that keeps the restrictions very limited and tries out most (if not all) of the team-based modes, but there's no reason to be a slave to the past if people would rather try a FFA comp, HC S&D or anything else.  Discuss :D.

I was just discussing this with KDA yesterday, haha. I'll let him elaborate whatever he's thinking though. A Clan Sixes, FFA or MG's smaller 4v4's sound like good ideas :).

There's also the new Squad System to think about for setting up Clan vs Clan battles which we could test out too. I've only started reading up a little bit about it, but it could help make any competitions more structured in the actual game.

I'd say Clan Sixes, Soul Survivor (If enough interest) then a HC SnD comp (hopefully have even more interest so it'll last longer :))
We had two Clan Sixes for B02? Maybe do that again or see what else Ghost has to offer and come up with a new comp....

It'll be interesting to see how the new Clan v Clan System works, hopefully it'll make things a lot easier to setup.

I think everyone will be happy to have a Clan Sixes before the New Year like last year, especially with the new modes and features so test it all out have some HC and FUN rounds in there too, only a suggestion though, definitely go with what the majority want... :D.

often with new cods people just wanna pub & level up a lot, not really play competitive to begin with.  i'd recommend something with small team sizes, triples or even doubles if anything at all before christmas.

We did it for B02 and it worked out well, as far as I remember anyway. Wouldn't hurt to do something smaller though, see how others feel I guess :).

Clan 6's best of five series.
5 different objective game types.

Small round robin would be a good chance for all clans to get settled into the new cod with all different game modes being played each week.

Then whatever game type is enjoyed the most from the teams involved in the tournament, could be a good base for the next tourney GG launch.

ZLB will be starting up a small team to join GG again we would like a S&D thing again we all loved it and if they have it like a hardpoint or somting like that to mix it up a bit so its not just S&D and all that i have a few other ideas that would be great but i will need to see all the modes on ghost befor i put them forward . i also would like to see somthing about 4V4 teams and all that make things intresting if there is a 4s thing i will deffenetly host a team for it, i  also am going to see if we can get a ren team or a second ZLB team to make up some more numbers for all the comps on GG (i will try i know half of ZLB love the comp stuff and want to make a few teams just need to see if they will go through with it) unfortunetly i will be the only one from ZLBb (team that i was in this season for HC S&D) because they are moving to CG so you will be seeing alot of my posts :) WarFagg out

Thanks for all the ideas (and keep them coming) - sounds like there's a range of suggestions, so how about a poll?  So far we've got:

- Clan Sixes, relatively unrestricted objectives comp 4x4
- Clan Fours, relatively unrestricted objectives comp 4x4
- HC S&D, 4v4
- Sole Survivor, FFA comp.

Post up any ideas you think should also be included in the poll and I'll get it up in the next day or two :D.

I'd give it a couple of weeks or so from the launch of the game to get things started, so maybe make the first default Sunday time the 17th of November, and maybe fit the comp into four weeks.  It'd be the usual pre-Christmas thing, a bit short and sharp, but best to wrap it up a couple of weeks before Christmas, as we'll start to lose people from teams on holidays.  How does that sound?  Deffo open to other ideas :D.

Also - my guess is we should run this on PS3, but are there enough people from clans getting it on PS4/XB1 to do a small comp there as well?

My 2 cents would be a Clan fours (with next-gen splitting crews between the different platforms, smaller teams will make it easier for clans to organise) relatively unrestricted objectives first up, followed by something a bit more involved about half-way through Jan if teams are keen, but that's just my 2 cents, post away and we'll try and give everyone a chance to get a comp match or four in before Christmas :D.

I think we've only got a couple of peeps getting PS4 on launch day (I'm getting mine next year).

I guess it's a matter of clan leaders talking with their teams and throwing down in here the kind of numbers that they think they'll be able to get. We'll be able to field a full 6's team; maybe even 2. But like Graph said, some people might be a lot more interested in just leveling up their accounts playing public than getting right into a tournament straight away

The other thing is that I think most players would need to get a few decent weeks under their bout of playing the game, as they've introduced new perk systems and killstreaks, and to start banning anything right of the bat seems a little disrespectful haha.

My thoughts; Clan 6's tourney (if there's enough people/teams, otherwise Clan 4's) and kick off around first week of December, with a break over the festive season

New ideas overnight.  Poll will be a "select as many as you like" thing, and will go like:

Select everything that you'd be happy playing for GG's first foray into CoD:Ghosts:
- FFA
- 2v2
- 3v3
- 4v4
- 5v5
- 6v6
- Relatively unrestricted objectives
- HC S&D
- Objectives with MLG rules
- PS3
- PS4
- XB1
- X360

Plus any other ideas that are posted up before the end of Friday, then we'll get the poll up, vote for a week, then get it happening :D.

there only like 4 people in my clan that is getting the ps4 the rest wont be getting it for a while but i agree a few weeks maybe 2 or somthing so that everyone is use to the guns then get into the comps, ZLB has a team ready for ghost and i think someone will host another team aswell so we will most likely have 2 i have talked to the Ren team and they might be keen to start up a small team (might be not 100%) i will expect you to be in it axe99 havnt seen you in a comp yet, but 4v4 is looking sweet as to me for our first comp of ghost then getting into the hc stuff and all, but yeah you will defenetly see a strong ZLB team in a few of the comps this season

Top stuff WarFagg B).  'Fraid my health ain't what it used to be, I played in TLoU comp (a much slower paced game) but  struggled, last time I was in a CoD comp (our first ever Clan Sixes, I think, or Sole Survivor) I was pretty useless.  I'll take anyone at RUSE or Civilization V though, lol. Or cards, I'm good at cards.  You might see me if we do anything with BF that involves the bigger maps and the vehicles, as you can play a more effective 'slow' game there, but CoDs all about speed and mobility, and I can't keep up these days and I'd be a liability to any team I was on.  That said, if we do another FFA comp, I'll be in that for larks and to give you all a few easy kills ;).

I'll be up for some Civ :D.  I've got Civ IV (and all the add-ons) on Steam, and Civ III as well I think.  I've played a lot of Civ 2 and the original, but the original didn't have any MP, and you had to mod it into Civ 2 and it was pretty ugly.  No rush or pressure though, I'm not going anywhere.  Highly recommend Civ V - it's a different experience to past Civs, but a very good one.  Best of luck in CGO, hope you kick arse, and thanks for helping get the teams together :D.

Top  stuff WF :D.  And don't worry, I'm a very anti-cheat.  Enjoy getting into Civ V - it's deffo worth getting used to, imo, even if it's a bit of a change in tack from earlier civs (particularly with no unit stacking).
