Why not?  Console reviews have been pretty strong, one of the Kotaku eds has written up a piece arguing it's better on console .

PC gamers loved hardcore, perma-death is what made Diablo 2 such a good game.

Problem with Diablo 3 is that all the new mechanics were geared at making normal mode better. This then drove the game to be harder.

Rather than making the game harder in a fair way though Blizzard decided to just turn up the damage and the stuns. Made hardcore pointless. There was no skill involved at the higher levels, it just became a game of luck. In Diablo 2 you could have gone all the way through without having to grind, sure it was hard as hell but you could do it.

Consoles should be a much more fun oriented, drop-in/drop-out style of game. Something to chill out with and just kill some mobs with your friends.
