EPIC TIP NO.1

dont play on metro on PC, its a painful experience. i play conquest and its various forms exclusively, normally on a games.on.net server, most games are good, some are bad.

It would also be full of hackers!

No longer need to play BF on PC since BF4 will be 60FPS and 64 players on next gen consoles, pretty much identical to the pc version except the pc version will have prettier graphics.

Those of you that were a little worried (I was worried) about the Stealth and Armour field upgrades in BF4, DICE has gone into more detail about them, doesn't sound so bad now.

Armor

Unlike previous versions of Body Armor in Bad Company, this Field Upgrade in Battlefield 4 is more similar to the more limited setups in BF2 and BF2142. It does not increase your overall health, instead it makes the small upper chest hit box more resilient to damage, equal to the rest of the body. In practice, this means that snipers can’t 1HK your upper chest at point blank ranges. It also provides some small protection from shotgun burst damage, though your head, legs, arms, and stomach remain unprotected. At medium and longer ranges, the armor has no effect on how many bullets it takes to kill a player. Essentially, Body Armor is for countering CQB sniper rifles, and not much else.

Reduced Fall

Small falls will not cause damage, however, the lethal fall distance remains the same. For example, without Reduced Fall jumping from the 2nd story of a building would cause 25 damage, and jumping from the 3rd story might cause 50 damage. With Reduced Fall the damage from the 2nd floor jump is eliminated, but jumping from the 3rd story will still cause 50 damage.

Stealth and Quick Unspot

These are both minor adjustments to the spotting system. Players are spotted for about 7 seconds by default, the Quick Unspot reduces this to 5 seconds. It’s important to note it doesn’t otherwise change any spotting behavior, for example if you track a spotted player he will stay spotted even with Quick Unspot equipped. Stealth simply adjusts the speed threshold for detection in Motion Sensors. A basic player can avoid being spotted by a Motion Sensor if they crouch or prone while moving. Stealth allows you to move at normal speed, however all players will be spotted by Motion Sensors at Sprint speed. Stealth is only available to the Recon kit, and must be earned through squad play. Both of these are good tools to play in a stealthier manner, but they hardly make a player invisible.

yeah see now they don't seem that appealing to use. The advantage from those perks is tiny compared to having extra ammo/explosives etc

No longer need to play BF on PC

No I've grown to really like mouse and keyboard for shooters now it is hard to play without and well I really like my field of view slider. I wonder if they will still have that shout out system as well where you hold the spot button and a little thing would pop-up with a voice command your character would say (like need back up, need ammo, push forward, etc. Also unsure if this was on the console version it's been awhile.) sure this could have been in because they scrapped voice chat in game on PC for BF3 for whatever reason but I'd like it to see it in BF4 regardless of platform.

Oh and for those wondering I'm not getting a PS4 my girlfriend is so I'll just use that (heading for about 4 years together soon) for certain games not BF though it feels like it supposed to be on PC, just my opinion that's all. That and all my close mates from high school are PC gamers.

Yeah i'm sure they will still have the communication rose (commo rose) since it was a most requested feature in BF3, And if im not mistaken, i'm sure i've seen it in some alpha footage of BF4 already.

Fair enough about the keyboard and mouse, I started gaming on PC and the keyboard/mouse but I'm too lazy to sit at my computer now, i'd rather sit back and relax with a controller.

Yeah I decided to order bf4 for pc only - I like being told why I am an ass*%$# for using a shotgun in TDM. Nah jk I am just committing to PC gaming for now :) Switching from controller to kb/bouse for shooters was not that hard at all. Sure I am not the best with accuracy and countering recoil yet, but I am having fun so thats all that matters

Its not hard to switch from controller to mouse and keyboard because everyone can use a mouse and keyboard, technically all you are doing is pointing and clicking! I point and click with the mouse all the time, i'm pro at it and i'm good with the keyboard cos I write code lol :P

Aye, the mouse/kb controls for shooters are the most accessible shooter controls available (touchscreens are a tiny bit easier for aiming, but bollocks for turning).  Deffo a solid control scheme, and really easy to pick up and use, and if you're having fun that's what it's all about :D.  Will be sticking to PS4 at my end, as far prefer a gamepad and there are just too many things about PC gaming that give me the irrates (Okeefe and Straussy definitely aren't factors though :D)), although will probably be a fairly intermittent player on BF4, given my form so far this year.
