That's the thing though - Microsoft were always in the console business for market share and to get Windows into living rooms, rather than because they were into gaming. They got some great gaming people involved, and have some great games (I grabbed a 360 not so long ago to catch up on the ones I'd missed, now that I can get most of 'em on the cheap), but their business mindset has been about control and monopolising the living room space, rather than to provide services or the like. That's why XBL's less open, the peripherals are more restricted and why they charge for access to other paid services!
This time around, it's going to be much, much tougher on them - particularly if they continue on their 'mass market' path. I'm sure they'll have a few quality exclusives, but I think they're still trying to monopolise the living room, rather than focus on actually providing services, and that kind of approach will only work for so long.... I'm sure they'll have a few great games, though, and towards the end of next gen I daresay I'll pick up Xbox Next/Loop/720 and give 'em a run
.Anyways, I'm sure it'll be on both the next Xbox and Playstation, but how about The Witcher 3? Looks seven shades of schmexy
