Announcing Killzone: Shadow Fall for PlayStation 4

Today we are happy we can finally show you what we have been working on.
It has been an amazing journey for us so far, being offered the opportunity to be a launch title for the new PlayStation, and the subsequent mild panic to figure out how to best handle all of that. But being able to now share it with you is both a scary and proud moment. We are hoping you will like what we have created, and are happy to present you with the first glimpse of Killzone Shadow Fall.

The piece of live gameplay we presented at the PlayStation Meeting 2013 shows you a new world, a new situation and a new hero.
The game is set in a near future, 30 years after the events of Killzone 3. The world is a very different place; two rival factions known as the Helghast and the Vektans live side by side in a futuristic city, divided by a vast wall.

Tensions are high, and the cold war they are embroiled in is about to go hot. In the midst of this all stands a Shadow Marshal, you. The most special of the special forces, tasked with maintaining the delicate balance.
From responding to bold attacks, to quiet infiltrations or all out combat, you will be required to adapt and think on your feet as you have to face a variety of escalating events that could destroy your home world.

We are looking forward to sharing some more of the exciting events and features that we have been working on. Keep your eyes out for more news soon.

I think it looks good never played 3 it came out at a bad time and I never got around to playing it so I don't really understand the hate for it but enjoyed playing 1 and 2.

I really enjoy the Killzone franchise, so I am looking forward to this game.

Yup, me too - I like Killzone so much I even enjoyed Killzone 3!  Will be interesting to see where they go with this, and how they all ended up living with each other thirty years into the future.

I think I would have liked 3 it fixed my main issue with 2 and that was level/environment variety which I loved in 1. So I hope that 4 follows suite and gives us some varied stunning locations to kill in.

I just enjoyed the guy being shot in the head, then the guy he was playing knife 2 guys in the face/neck lol

Seems like it may. I have never seen such bright colours in Killzone before as I did in that trailer lol.

Seriously WTF!? How the hell can they leave the storyline of 3 the way it ended?! What a joke!
Helgans and Vektans living on the same planet now? Lol big wtf to that.

Not sure how people liked Kz3, GG turned their back on the awesomeness of Kz1 & 2 and gave us Codzone3. Ugh, calling it out now, chances of this game sucking are extremely high

Gotta agree it doesn't make sense at all. Killzone was always about interstellar war after the vektans exiled the helgans to another planet. Following on from the events of killzone 2 and 3 where nuclear weapons were involved - how do they decide to live on the same planet let alone right next to each other....

I think there will be some 'crafty' storytelling involved to say the least. Still I have hopes for the mp. ignore all other shooters and evolve what you made with killzone 2 for the love of god!

I don't think this is Killzone 4.

It looks more like infiltration by the Helghast rather than them living there. Hence why they are disguised. But even though the graphics look amazing - it just looks like another shooter to me. Watch Dogs here I come. haha.

Graphics look awesome, but didnt look much like Killzone to me, but its still early - the MP is where the fun will be who cares about the story! Ill just play the story for the Graphics lol and if MP is shit then back to the shop it goes.

No no no no nooooooooooooo.

Coulda shoulda been a redemption after kz3 but this looks a bit...stupid.

Visuals were pretty good but mechanics don't seem to have evolved..and the concept...d'oh, I'm the shadow fapper?..the pharkin shadow what? I'll wait for more details but view the franchise sceptically. (Stamps feet leaves room slamming the door)
