GoodGame.net.au Community Game of the Year 2015

2015, GG's community GotY, with many worthy titles available this year read on to find out what captured our members minds this year and rose to the top and won our Game of the Year for 2015.

2nd Runner Up - Dying Light

Dying comes in 2nd runner up an impressive feat for a new IP released early on in the year a testament to its quality being able to keep mindshare throughout the year amidst many big name releases.

Dying Light comes from the Techland the previous developers of the Dead Island series a series that is met with mixed reactions and often described as repetitive and bug ridden which no doubt made many somewhat hesitant to pick it up at release. After the games release positive word of mouth spread encouraging more people to pick the game up, Techland managed to learn from its past releases and create a zombie game that was fun to play, being able to run and survive through a zombie ridden world with up to 3 of your friends.

Dying Light would definitely be up there this year for one of the more unexpected successes with many players expressing their surprise at the enjoyment it provided them it is a more then worthy second runner up for Game of the Year.

1st Runner Up - Bloodborne, The Witcher 3

1st runner we have tie a testament to the amount of quality games released this year and the difficulty gamers faced in deciding their favourite games for the year.

BloodBorne developers From Software keep Bloodborne along the same vein as their previous games. The keep the punishing difficulty, and lack of hand holding that From Software Souls games gain their recognition and praise for.

It is no surprise that Bloodborne was one of the years most anticipated releases. Many fans were excited to get into the next challenging world to test out their skills. Of course Bloodborne offers players more than just its difficulty and lack of help, its world is riddled with detail with its setting and art direction suiting the game extremely well. It also has deep, detailed lore to build the world and give it its history for players who can brave and survive the monsters to find and piece together.

Gameplay, presentation, music and all other aspects reach a high standard as such it is no surprise BloodBorne features highly and is well worthy of its spot.

The Witcher 3 another much anticipated game of the year released to critical acclaim from critics and players alike. The Witcher 3 gave players a large world to explore filled with stories and lore, each side quest had a story behind it a reason why you were doing it. The world was large and gave players plenty to see and do allowing them to get lost for hours just exploring. Providing players with hours and hours of quests The Witcher 3 offers players plenty of playtime for their money.

The Witcher 3 is another high standard in games released this year, very popular and highly regarded it is right at home in the top 3 Games of the Year.

Game Of The Year - Fallout 4

Fallout 4, one of the most anticipated games of the year, and one of the biggest perhaps only exceeded by the Call of Duty juggernaut. Bethesda’s latest game delighted and surprised many when announced early this year that it would be releasing this year. Bethesda’s games are well known for their bugs so they must be something special when they are still so widely anticipated and still excite so many gamers in spite of this.

Fallout 4 once again drops players into the post-apocalyptic playground with plenty to discover and explore all created in Bethesda’s unique style that makes their games so widely popular and anticipated. Many players enjoy worlds that they can just explore and not be tied to a path or order of things and the freedom that Fallout provides gives it its popularity, exploring the wasteland, gathering supplies, crafting and building Fallout has much to offer players to get lost in it for many hours.

Congratulations Fallout 4 and Bethesda for winning GoodGame.net.au’s community Game of the Year for 2015.

Great article Spec, and by all accounts a very worthy winner (tbh, I'd say anyone playing all four games would be doing well for themselves :D).
